Deni Friska Yulianti, English Literature Student FBS UNP, Starts Her Internship Program at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur

Deni Friska Yulianti, English Literature student from Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP), takes part on the internship program held by the Indonesian Embassy on January 2nd until January 26th in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Ika, what she is usually called, when contacted on Saturday (20/1), said that working at the embassy was one of her biggest dreams since she was young. This is also the main reason why she took part in the long selection process for the internship program at the Indonesian Embassy. She applied for this program on July 2023 and got the acceptance letter on December 2023.

During this batch, the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur accepts 10 university students, including from Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Udayana, Universitas Brawijaya, and Universitas Negeri Padang.

Being the only students from UNP in the program, Ika learns a lot in education and culture division of the Indonesian Embassy. She admits that the knowledge and skill learned on campus, such as translation skills, communication skills, are very useful in the internship program.

“Hopefully, my selection for this internship can inspire other students, especially English Language and Literature students of UNP. We all have the same opportunity to learn and gain experience in the internship program,” she concluded. (HY/RY)
