Quality Assurance

The quality assurance system at UNP is conducted by implementing the PPEPP cycle (Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Standard Improvement). UNP sets educational standards used as a reference by all study programs which include some standards on graduate competency, content, process, education assessment, educational staff, facilities and infrastructure, management, and financing.

The implementation of standards is evaluated internally (monitoring, evaluation and internal quality audits) and externally (accreditation of national and international institutions). The Quality Assurance System at the University level was managed by the Internal Quality Assurance Center (BPMI). Meanwhile, at the faculty level it was carried out under the coordination of the Internal Quality Assurance Cluster (GPMI), and at the study program level it was conducted by the Internal Quality Assurance Unit (UPMI). The implementation of the activities of the Internal Quality Assurance Unit (UPMI) is based on the Decree on Quality Assurance of Universitas Negeri Padang.

Furthermore, in accordance with the change in UNP’s status to become a legal-entity university with a wider autonomy PTNBH) in 2022, the implementation of the Quality Assurance System at UNP has also changed. The quality assurance system at university level is currently managed by the Internal Quality Assurance Agency (BPMI). Meanwhile at the faculty level it is carried out by the faculty Quality Assurance Team under the coordination of the Vice Dean I (academic field). At the study program level, it is carried out by the quality assurance team under the coordination of the study program coordinator.

The implementation of internal quality assurance aims to find out and follow up on the results of learning evaluation and human resources at UNP. If the evaluation results have not met the predetermined standards, control actions will be taken starting from the study program level, faculty to the university level. In addition, evaluation results are also used for sustainable quality improvement. Therefore, evaluation is also carried out by internal stakeholders (students, lecturers, and education staff) and external stakeholders (alumni, partners, and graduate users). If the evaluation results show the accomplishment of the standards that have been set, the study programs, faculties and university are able to increase the existing standards. Monitoring and evaluation of learning is carried out in the study program coordinated by the study program coordinator who is assisted by the quality assurance team. It is carried out 3 times per semester. Meanwhile,
internal quality audit is carried out once a year. Furthermore, to improve the quality of learning at Universitas Negeri Padang, a student satisfaction survey is also conducted. It is conducted at the end of the semester by filling out a questionnaire which has been provided on the portal page of each student. The results are taken into consideration for the study program to conduct a follow-up on the implementation of learning in the following semester.
