In general, new student selection procedures adhere to national provisions based on the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 48 of 2022 concerning Acceptance of New Students for Diploma Programs and Undergraduate Programs at State Universities. The recruiting and selection process is guided by the principles of fairness, accountability, flexibility, efficiency, transparency, and the avoidance of conflicts of interest. The new student selection mechanism is divided into three admission points: (a) National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP); (b) National Selection Based on Test (SNBT); and (c) Independent Selection by Universities. BPPP (Education Testing Management Center) organizes the SNBT and SNBP implementation.
