English Language and Literature Department held the final session of the workshops series on Research Collaboration with Peer Universities by focussing on literary issues on Friday (23/2) via zoom meeting application. The invited speakers on this workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shantini Pillai from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, discussed the current issues in literary studies and literary research methodology.
The Chief Committee, Dr. Muhd. Al Hafizh, S.S., M.A., in his opening speech mentioned that the main problems of the English literature students is in writing the thesis. This workshop is very important both for the students and the lecturer since it can inspire them on doing a research, especially in the field of literature.
The same voice also stated by The Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affair of Language and Arts Faculty, Dr. Havid Ardi, S.Pd., M.Hum., that the this workshop can help the students and lecturers to share the current issues in Literary Studies. “Besides, the faculty appreciates this kind of activity and encourages our lecturers and students to increase the number of research and publications,” he added.
