Padang, March 25, 2025 – The editorial team of the English Language and Literature (ELL) journal, managed by the English Literature program, together with other journal managers within the Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP), participated in a coordination meeting to prepare for the reaccreditation of journals under the faculty’s management. The English Language and Literature (ELL) journal is an academic publication managed by the English Literature Program of FBS UNP, which publishes research articles in the fields of linguistics and English literature. The journal is published four times a year.
Rifki Oktoviandry, S.Pd., M.Hum., editor of the ELL journal who attended the coordination meeting, stated that the journal had applied for reaccreditation in 2024. Unfortunately, it did not pass the desk evaluation due to technical issues. There was a difference in the reviewers’ perspectives regarding the journal’s assessment. We did our best to prepare, with support from a national reviewer invited by the university, but unfortunately, we still did not pass the desk evaluation,” he said.
In addition to the editorial team, the meeting was also attended by the Coordinator of the English Literature Program, Ms. Nur Rosita, S.Pd., M.A. She expressed her hopes that the ELL journal, which was previously accredited at SINTA 5, will regain its accreditation this year. The reaccreditation of journals is one of the top priorities of the Faculty of Languages and Arts, as part of its efforts to improve the quality of academic publications.
“Currently, FBS is the faculty with the highest number of SINTA-accredited journals at UNP. Let’s maintain and improve this achievement,” said the Dean of FBS UNP, Prof. Dr. Ermanto, S.Pd., M.Hum., in the senate meeting room of FBS UNP. (RY)
