On September 18, 2024, the English Language and Literature Department at Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) launched a Lesson Study program aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching and learning. The first class to implement this initiative was the Grammar class in the English Literature Program.
According to the Head of the English Literature Program, Delvi Wahyuni, S.S., M.A., the Lesson Study consists of three phases: preparation, in-class observation, and post-lesson review. During the observation phase, several lecturers act as observers, monitoring and analysing the students’ learning processes in the selected class. The observations gathered will later be discussed between the course instructor and the observers to reflect on and improve teaching strategies for better student outcomes. (HY)
