ELSP UNP explores potential collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia, and Alato University

Padang, April 28, 2025 — The English Literature Study Program of Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) held a meeting to explore potential collaboration with Universitas Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Alato University via Zoom. The meeting aimed to discuss academic and scholarly cooperation between the three institutions. During the productive discussion, several areas of collaboration were agreed upon, including:

  1. Team Teaching (Lecturer Series): The three universities agreed to hold joint teaching sessions involving lecturers from each institution, with the aim of enriching the learning experience for students and enhancing the quality of teaching.
  2. Curriculum Exchange: This collaboration also includes curriculum exchange, which will allow students to gain insights from different international educational perspectives and enrich the curriculum at each university.
  3. Virtual Students Mobility: Through this initiative, students from the three universities will have the opportunity to participate in virtual mobility, allowing them to interact with students from other institutions despite being located in different places, thus broadening their horizons and learning experiences.
  4. Books Writing: One of the key agendas of this collaboration is co-authoring books, which will involve academics from UNP, UPM, and Alato University. These books will cover topics related to English Literature and other relevant fields in current academic development.
  5. Scientific Writing Collaboration: This collaboration also includes joint scientific writing, aiming to strengthen scientific writing skills among academics and facilitate the publication of scholarly works that contribute to global education.
  6. Journal Collaboration (Reviewer/Editor): Lastly, the three universities will collaborate in managing academic journals, involving joint efforts as reviewers and editors to improve the quality of publications produced by researchers from the three institutions.

This collaboration is expected to strengthen the international academic relationship between UNP, UPM, and Alato University, and have a positive impact on the development of education and research in the field of English Literature. This meeting marks a positive first step, and the participants hope that the collaboration will yield long-term benefits for all three universities. ( RY)
